Bathroom & Kitchen Lighting Installation Services

The right lighting system can transform your bathroom and kitchen from ordinary to extraordinary. At Mr. Electric, we help local customers get the most from their living space with our wide range of premium services including lighting installation, repair, and replacement. If you’re considering upgrading your bathroom or kitchen, it’s important to consider the impact that lighting can have.

The Basics of Lighting Design

Lighting is no longer just about brightening a room. It's a critical component of interior design, contributing to the overall ambiance, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of your home, particularly in the bathroom and kitchen. To effectively illuminate these areas, you’ll need to utilize three basic lighting types:

  • Ambient Lighting: This general type of lighting provides overall illumination to a space. It's the foundational layer of lighting.
  • Task Lighting: As the name suggests, task lighting is focused, providing the necessary illumination for specific tasks like cooking or applying makeup.
  • Accent Lighting: This is used to highlight certain features in a room, such as artwork or architectural details.

As electricians, we help bring these layers of light to life, ensuring your home is not only well-lit but also safe and energy-efficient.

Bathroom Lighting: Illuminating Your Sanctuary

In the bathroom, the lighting should be flexible - bright enough for grooming tasks, but also capable of creating a relaxing atmosphere for a long soak in the tub. Common fixtures include vanity lights, wall sconces, and recessed lighting. The choice ultimately depends on the size of your bathroom, the color scheme, and your style. When it comes to safety, it’s crucial to note that bathrooms are high-moisture environments. Therefore, all fixtures need to be correctly rated for damp conditions to prevent electrical hazards. Also, to ensure optimal energy efficiency, consider using LED bulbs. They last longer and consume less energy than traditional incandescent bulbs.

Kitchen Lighting: Brightening the Heart of Your Home

The kitchen demands a more strategic approach to lighting due to its multiple roles. Here, you may consider using a mix of recessed lights, under-cabinet strip lights, and decorative pendants over the kitchen island. Just like in the bathroom, safety is paramount in kitchen lighting. All installations should adhere to local electrical codes. For energy efficiency, LED lights are again the preferred choice, especially for task lighting, given their brighter, focused light.

Latest Trends in Bathroom and Kitchen Lighting

Today, innovation in the lighting industry means homeowners can enjoy a blend of functionality, style, and convenience. For instance, dimmer switches offer the ability to alter the mood of the room at the turn of a knob. Similarly, motion sensor lights improve energy efficiency by ensuring lights are only on when needed. Smart lighting offers unprecedented control over your home's system. With a simple tap on your smartphone, you can adjust brightness, color, and even program lighting schedules.

Do You Need a Lighting Upgrade for Your Kitchen or Bathroom?

Choosing the right lighting for your bathroom and kitchen goes beyond aesthetic appeal. It calls for a delicate balance between design and energy efficiency. Professional installation and maintenance of your bathroom and kitchen lighting systems not only ensure your home's safety but also prolong the life of your fixtures. Our Customers Love our Services

John was on time, explained the issue I was having, offered me a couple of options, and then repaired the switch that was giving me problems, following my preferences of the choices he had given me.  He was pleasant, professional, and did a great job.  Would not hesitate to  use Mr. Electric again!

Austin, electrician and his teammate we’re great! Both were punctual, courteous, and very informative in explaining the situation and their recommendations to replace a bad breaker in our panel.  There was NO frivolous attempt up-sale to items we didn’t need and they were straight to the point honest in their recommendation. In the end, I would described the customer service Austin and his teammate provided me as, AWESOME! Being a new home owner, I am glad I have found  this company and will be using them any future electrical needs!

Outstanding communication and very professional service.  I would highly recommend Mr. Electric.  Received both e-mails and texts on appointment to include a photo and short bio of the actual electrician (Brad Mason) who would be doing the work.  Wish all home service providers did the same.  Brad was on time (actually a few minutes early).  He installed 30AMP breaker and associated RV plug in our garage.  To avoid any sheetrock repairs it was necessary for him to drop the line to the house electric panel through a wall with foam insulation, with very limited head/body clearance for him to work.  No mess left behind from the actual plug installation on another wall.

Rick from Mr. Electric arrived when expected and quickly diagnosed the problem.  He recommended a solution and gave us a proposal for solving the problem.  We asked when he could do the work and how long would it take.  He said he could do the job that day and it would take 4 or 5 hours.  The price was reasonable, and we told him to get started.  He did a very good job, neat and within the estimated time.  The invoice amount for the job was was the same as the proposal amount.  We are planning on having Mr. Electric and hopefully Rick do more work in the near future to upgrade our home's 50+ year old electrical system.
